Electricity is measured in kiloWatthours (kWhs). Using electricity doesn't generate any CO2...but creating the electricity in the first place may--it depends on how the electricity was generated. If your electricity is coming from a hydroelectric dam or a photovoltaic solar panel or a windmill, you aren't generating CO2. If your electricity is coming from a coal fired or natural gas burning power plant, you are generating CO2.
